The Cap Martin sofa, created by French architect and interior designer India Mahdavi, is part of a collection of rattan seating furniture, including a curved sofa, a double seating sofa, an armchair and the very latest addition: a small dining chair. The armchair, which was the first piece in the collection, was designed for the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel in a 50s French Riviera atmosphere.
Rattan is one of Mahdavi’s most evocative materials. Its contemporary and graphic use plays with contrasts, shadows and light, suggestive of a winter garden atmosphere.
