and furnished by Svenskt Tenn’s Interior Design Studio.

This interior design philosophy is the basis for all of Svenskt Tenn Interior Design Studio’s projects and their interiors are therefore not strictly conceptual with a single homogeneous expression. It is rather an eclectic collection of furniture and items depending on the person living in the interior space. A home should live along with the resident.

“There’s nothing wrong with mixing old and new, with combining different furniture styles, colours and patterns. Things that you like will automatically fuse to form a relaxing entity. A home does not need to be planned down to the smallest detail or contrived; it should be an amalgamation of the things that the owner loves and feels at home with.” – JOSEF FRANK

The philosophy is timeless in the use of authentic materials that age beautifully and in a range of basic, rather than trendy colours, that endure over time. It is an expression and quality that gives interiors a lifetime that spans generations and interacts with nature.

between indoors and outdoors.
”The modern home is a mix of more expensive and less expensive items, which do not have to match each other. What matters most is simply comfort and pleasantness.” – ESTRID ERICSON

Josef Frank around 1950.

Even today, Estrid Ericson and Josef Frank’s highly personal blend of European elegance and Swedish functionalism permeates Svenskt Tenn’s decorating philosophy, which is based on the resident’s needs and demands aesthetically, functionally and in terms of experience.
