New Orleans
During his time in New York from 1943 to 1945, Josef Frank designed two map patterns. One of them was named Dixieland, but it has since been renamed New Orleans.

About the print
In the pattern's three main sections, the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding continents are depicted. Josef Frank portrays Africa filled with gigantic sunflowers, while the oceans surge with white-crested waves against the shores.

Printing the New Orleans fabric
Josef Frank’s New Orleans pattern is meticulously crafted using the screen printing technique — an intricate method that demands precision and artisanal skill.
