In this summer’s outdoor space, lavender, bishop’s flower, and lilac come together in shades of white and purple—poetic tones that echo both Swedish summer meadows and Southern European gardens. The sun-warmed stone paving and travertine table evoke the Mediterranean, as do the rattan furniture pieces with their airy, inviting, and timeless form. Though rattan is sensitive to the elements, the furniture may be placed outdoors temporarily for a restful moment in the shade.
As always, we draw inspiration from the interiors of Estrid Ericson’s summer house, Tolvekarna (the Twelve Oaks), when furnishing the outdoor space. Here, Josef Frank’s rattan furniture is paired with his vibrant, patterned textiles – a simple way to refresh and transform the character of each piece. In one seating area, the cushion is upholstered in the deep blue Notturno fabric, combined with cushions in the Anakreon and Navigare prints. In the other, a lighter composition features Catleya in red alongside Baranquilla in white. Among the plants and furnishings, Jönsson’s Cat quietly appears – a lifelike cast iron sculpture, beloved by many and a playful addition to the space.

The classic Tolvekarna plant pot serves as a summer flowerbed, filled with seasonal favourites. With timeless interior pieces from Svenskt Tenn, the outdoor space becomes more than a space for summer – it becomes a sensory retreat for rest and inspiration on the warmest days of the year.
The black and yellow cushion features a characteristic motif of a figure in profile, created by the Greek artist Alekos Fassianos.
