NATURAL COLOUR VARIATIONS

Ash wood, natural leather, rattan and bamboo – Svenskt Tenn decorates the dining room with bright, solid materials and decorative details. Chair 2025, among other things, helps create an airy feeling. Josef Frank designed the lightweight chair, with its open back and organic shape, for Svenskt Tenn in 1925.

BLUE GREY TONES

A harmonious whole is created by picking up the interaction of colour tones, both in vegetation and in the interior. Blue and green elements give a sensation of sky, sea and greenery. This is reflected in the dining room’s interior design details such as the classic Hortus pot in cobalt blue glass and Josef Frank’s oval glass plate from the 1940s.

Stones in smoky quartz, amethyst, rose quartz and aventurine adorn Josef Frank’s pewter candlesticks, designed around 1950. Their tall form is completely in line with Estrid Ericson’s ideas about candlesticks and table lighting. In a radio interview from 1951, she shared a few key rules on how to increase wellbeing around the dining table. Among other things, she described for her listeners how “the light should be high enough so as not to shine from below and cast an unflattering light. The flowers should be so low, that you can see the person across the table unhindered.”
