Living room as relaxation room

A spacious sofa, a daybed, comfortable cushions and holiday memories. This autumn, we are decorating the living room as a cosy space for relaxing and reminiscing.

Souvenirs for display

In bookcase 2255, the display cabinet has been filled with shells and stones: souvenirs and memories from the past summer; something to feast your eyes on and gather around. Svenskt Tenn’s founder, Estrid Ericson, used to do the same, in the store as well as in her private home and summer house.

“The main thing is not for the different items to match one another, to be old or new, or for the colours to form a single unit. The main thing, quite simply, convenience and pleasantness.”

A place for relaxation

Svenskt Tenn’s daybed was designed by Josef Frank in 1938. At that time, the daybed was a common and recurring touch in modern interiors, as many designers focused on people relaxing and finding tranquillity in the home. For the autumn of 2023, Svenskt Tenn is doing this too, and placing the daybed next to Josef Frank’s 1943 bookcase.

Lux candle lantern

In the Lux candle lantern, light is the focus in several senses. The name is derived from the Latin word for light, and the materials have been carefully selected to reflect and spread a warm glow from the lighted candle in its centre. The lantern is intended to be used at bright moments in life, placed where people meet loved ones, gather and socialise.

New upholstery linen

Svenskt Tenn’s own linen has been part of the company’s range for decades. The upholstery linen is a more durable variant, produced in colours such as blue, amber, green, and dark brown. The pigment dyeing process creates a unique, slightly irregular, colour effect, emphasising the natural aspects of linen fabric.
