Svenskt Tenn Akademi

As part of the Svenskt Tenn Akademi series, we invite you to a new season of inspiring lectures and insightful discussions with Svenskt Tenn’s experts and external specialists.

Svenskt Tenn on a Small Scale

In conjunction with the exhibition Svenskt Tenn on a Small Scale, a new series of Svenskt Tenn Akademi will be hosted in-store at Strandvägen 5. Learn more about how exhibitions have shaped Svenskt Tenn’s story and listen to a conversation on how to build a home according to the interior design philosophy of Josef Frank and Estrid Ericson.

Svenskt Tenn: Interiors

To celebrate the launch of the book Svenskt Tenn: Interiors, the lecture series Svenskt Tenn Akademi will be hosted at Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, on 3 April 2025. Five discussions will take place, moderated by author and journalist Gunnar Bolin. Participants include Nina Stritzler-Levine and Irma Boom, the book’s editor and designer respectively.

Josef Frank – The legacy of a maestro

The fourth part of Svenskt Tenn Akademi takes place 5 December at Liljevalchs in Stockholm. The event offers insights into Josef Frank’s life work and his influential years as an architect and designer.

The creation of a retrospective

In the season’s first conversation, Tuesday 2 October, 18:00-19:00 CET, Svenskt Tenn’s Head Curator Karin Södergren and Isak Nilson, Vice Exhibition Manager and Curator at Liljevalchs, will share insights and experiences from the creation of the comprehensive exhibition.

Pewter: A timeless metal

In the second part of the Svenskt Tenn Akademi we delve into pewter – this timeless and beautiful material that experienced a renaissance in the first half of the 20th century.

Estrid Ericson – The Fearless Aesthete

The inaugural session of the Svenskt Tenn Akademi focuses on Estrid Ericson's initial years as an entrepreneur – a visionary ahead of her time.
