Plant Stand 942
A lush oasis – a place for rest, contemplation and creation. For Svenskt Tenn’s founder, Estrid Ericson, the summer house Tolvekarna served as a sanctuary.
The small oak leaf-green house in Tyresö, just outside Stockholm, stood on a hill, surrounded by greenery. Here, Ericson’s interest in botany could unfold freely. In the garden, she created a composition of plant life in which the informal was allowed to take precedence over the strictly arranged.
This exhibition reflects Ericson’s appreciation of all that lives, grows and carries scent – a botanical world of colour and form, ever present in Svenskt Tenn interiors.
