The Träd i blom (Tree in bloom) pattern
In a number of patterns, Josef Frank created his own interpretations of the Tree of Life or The Sacred Tree, which has been depicted in various ways in different cultures throughout history. Träd i blom is one of those patterns, and it is being launched for the very first time – a timeless design treasure that has been preserved in Svenskt Tenn’s archives since the late 1930s. Colourful flowers and red and green pumpkins adorn the pattern, and the fabric hangs as a curtain in the summer living room.

Design inspired by nature
Josef Frank’s Träd i blom (Tree in bloom) is not the only nature-inspired new item decorating the living room this summer. Carina Seth Andersson, designer of the iconic Dagg vase, is back with a new vase in two different sizes. The Pomona vase has a slightly rounded, soft design inspired by the shape of an apple. Pomona was the goddess of fruit, fruit trees and gardens in Roman mythology, which inspired Carina Seth Andersson’s choice of both the name and appearance. The larger vase has a generous size, 45 centimetres high and 42 centimetres wide, and is therefore the perfect vase for those who want to bring nature to the living room with larger branches.

The Paradiset planter
The Paradiset planter was designed in 1928 by Nils Fougstedt and has not been produced since then. Now it is back in the range. The planter is a true masterpiece – a work of art in pewter that you can fill with flowers according to the season.

Classics by Josef Frank
Josef Frank created exciting designs by mixing different materials, and we are doing likewise when decorating the living room this summer. The Träd i blom (Tree in bloom) curtain, the checked rug, upholstered furniture, and cushions in different colours, provide the textile elements that soften up the interior, while furniture such as Coffee Table 1057, Chair 2238 and the classic Wellpappskåpet (Corrugated Cabinet) bring together materials such as elm root, walnut, mahogany, birch and rattan. Estrid Ericson, the founder of Svenskt Tenn, wrote in her 1939 interior design catechism that not all the furniture in a room has to be made of the same type of wood – it’s a timeless approach that is just as true today.
