Handmade pinecone in clay, made in Sicily and painted in colours typical for Sicilian crafts. The Pine, which is common in Sicily, is evergreen and its cones symbolise life, force and eternity. In Sicily, the pinecone has traditionally been used to adorn the main entrance of villas and gardens, as well as the facades of churches and convents. On the island, it is also a common to give away a pinecone as a gift at weddings, when a child is born or when someone moves into a new home.
