When the artist Mamma Andersson created the mohair throw in the interior design collection The Discreet Charm, the idea was to portray a dim autumn landscape in wool. As with the tea set and trays in the same collection, the throw bears the characteristic colour palette that also distinguishes Mamma Andersson’s personal artwork. The name “The Discreet Charm” comes from the title of Luis Bunuel’s 1972 film, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie. It’s a reference to, among other things, the artist’s own relationship to bourgeoisie traditions, for better or worse.
