Laptop Cases Featuring Patterns by Estrid Ericson and Josef Frank

Svenskt Tenn’s laptop sleeves are available in several classic patterns designed by Josef Frank and Svenskt Tenn’s founder, Estrid Ericson. The hand-sewn sleeves are both practical and decorative and come in two sizes, designed for 13-inch and 15-inch laptops.

Laptop Sleeves Featuring Josef Frank’s Patterns

Josef Frank joined Svenskt Tenn in 1934. During his time with the company, he designed numerous textile patterns that have since achieved iconic status.

Josef Frank’s organic patterns have a distinctive place in 20th-century textile design. Inspired by nature, they depict imaginative landscapes filled with colour and vegetation.

One of Frank’s most classic patterns, Tulpaner, was designed between 1943 and 1945 and is characterised by its distinctive design. The delicate outlines of the flowers in different colours give the motif depth.

The Svenskt Tenn Est. 1924 pattern was designed by Josef Frank in 1949–1950 under the name Stockholm. To mark Svenskt Tenn’s centenary, the pattern was updated with the text Svenskt Tenn Est. 1924. Svenskt Tenn’s laptop sleeves are available in both of these classic patterns, as well as Josef Frank’s Teheran and Baranquilla.

Elephant – Estrid Ericson’s Only Textile Pattern

Estrid Ericson designed numerous objects for Svenskt Tenn, including the Vase Acorn, jewellery and pewter objects. But she created only one textile pattern: Elephant. Ericson found inspiration for the design during one of her many travels, when she discovered an African fabric featuring an elephant motif at a flea market in Paris. The pattern was designed in the 1930s, and the small elephants have since become a symbol of Svenskt Tenn.

Japanese Magnolia from the GP & J Baker Archive

Svenskt Tenn’s laptop cases are also available in the Japanese Magnolia pattern from the British textile company GP & J Baker. The collaboration between Svenskt Tenn and the company began as early as the 1930s. Designed by William Turner in 1917, Japanese Magnolia depicts magnolia trees with small birds and butterflies. The naturalistic motif was originally block-printed on fine linen fabric and was introduced at Svenskt Tenn in spring 2020.

Laptop Sleeves in 13 and 15 Inches

Svenskt Tenn’s laptop sleeves are available in two sizes, designed for 13-inch and 15-inch laptops. Several of the patterns also feature on Svenskt Tenn’s tote bags, making it possible to pair a laptop sleeve with a bag in the same pattern.
