Candle Holder The Knot of Friendship
At Svenskt Tenn, classic gifts bring together design, history and craftsmanship – timeless objects designed by Josef Frank, Estrid Ericson and contemporary designers such as Maja Sten, Mattias Karlsson and Erik Björk. A gift from Svenskt Tenn can be passed down through generations while also contributing to a greater purpose: since 1975, Svenskt Tenn has been owned by the Kjell and Märta Beijer Foundation, making each gift a gift in more than one sense.
“The surplus from Svenskt Tenn’s business supports causes of lasting value: world-leading research and education, and the promotion of Swedish interiors, design and culture.”
Gifts for Every Occasion
From sculptural objects in pewter to brass pieces that unite aesthetics and function – Svenskt Tenn offers a selection of gifts for weddings, christenings, graduations and birthdays. The decorative Brännvinsfisken in pewter was designed by the architect and artist Björn Trägårdh in 1929–1930, based on an original idea by Svenskt Tenn’s founder, Estrid Ericson.
Based on a model from Svenskt Tenn’s historical archive, the pewter box with glass knob has been recreated – inspired by Estrid Ericson’s many travels around the world.
After founding and running Svenskt Tenn for several decades, Estrid Ericson chose, at the age of 81, to transfer ownership of the company to the Kjell and Märta Beijer Foundation. In doing so, Ericson ensured that the business would continue to serve a greater purpose. This form of ownership allows Svenskt Tenn to operate with a long-term perspective – with quality, knowledge and cultural heritage at its core. The surplus from Svenskt Tenn’s business supports causes of lasting value: world-leading research and education, and the promotion of Swedish interiors, design and culture.
