During the holidays, as friends and family gather, the thoughtfully decorated table becomes a symbol of warmth and togetherness. This year’s festive setting at Svenskt Tenn balances tradition and playfulness. On a dark tablecloth, wine, hops and tobacco weave through Josef Frank’s Poisons pattern, creating a rich and inviting atmosphere.
In contrast to the dark, patterned tablecloth, light porcelain and clear glass bring a sense of balance to the setting. The Minerva porcelain service, beautiful in its simplicity, was created by designer and glass artist Carina Seth Andersson for Svenskt Tenn’s centenary in 2024. Paired with the delicate, mouth-blown glasses, it forms a harmonious meeting of craftsmanship and design.
Among the timeless elements of the table setting, classic pewter pieces add a special lustre. Beauty and function come together in Björn Trägårdh’s sculptural Schnapps Fish and the traditional Vase Jam Jar – designed by “the queen of table settings,” Estrid Ericson, in the early 1950s. The Wine Stopper Cherub was designed by Marie-Louise Idestam-Blomberg in 1927. With its exquisite detailing, it’s a charming piece to bring out for the festive table year after year.

In Josef Frank’s iconic cabinet 2192, delicate mouth-blown glasses are arranged in anticipation of the festive season. The small cocktail napkins, crafted from Svenskt Tenn’s fine linen, bring a subtle elegance to the table, while the elegant wine cooler in pewter and brass, designed by Sebastian Schildt, keeps the drink cold without the bottle becoming wet.

The table setting is only complete when the candles are lit – the atmosphere rises and the festivities can begin. Josef Frank’s six-armed candelabra was designed in 1938–1939 with the idea of modernising the classic form. With its softly curved lines and multiple lights, the candelabra casts a warm and gentle glow.
