Pick Your Poison
Refined elegance, maximalist detail, and craftsmanship at the forefront – as this year’s Christmas at Svenskt Tenn takes shape, Josef Frank’s Poisons pattern, designed between 1943 and 1945, takes centre stage.
In this year’s Christmas collection, the contemporary and the traditional intertwine in a new interpretation that moves between the understated and the opulent, between quiet reflection and festive celebration.
The starting point is Josef Frank’s Poisons pattern, where vines, hops and tobacco twist through decorative forms, revealing nature’s dual character – both deceptive and alluring. From this motif, this year’s Christmas decorations take shape. Designers Susanna Barrett and Sam Wilde have drawn inspiration from Frank’s world in their use of colour, silhouette and detail.
“Pick Your Poison” is a nod to the cocktail parties of the 1930s and to the Bauhaus era’s clean lines, simplicity and geometric forms. The collection features bold accents, shimmering glass baubles and gleaming brass ornaments – timeless yet irresistible.
