Beckmans scholar 2026

EXHIBITION AT STRANDVÄGEN 5
9.10.2026 – 18.10.2026

Svenskt Tenn’s Design Award is awarded annually to one of the graduating students from Beckmans College of Design’s Product Design Programme, whose work fulfills the criteria of sustainability, quality and good design.

Linda Hjert is awarded the 2026 scholarship for her degree project, “Trinity of Vessels”. Drawing on personal experiences, Hjert explores the vase as an enduring object that carries traces of what has been. Here, the vase becomes a bearer of memories through life’s bright and dark moments.

Hjert explores the vase as a vessel for memories.

With a sculptural approach and a strong sense of materiality, Hjert uses the fragility and expressive qualities of glass to convey complex emotions and experiences.

The vases are created using a traditional glassblowing technique known as påklipp, in which additional elements of molten glass are applied to the surface. During the process, forms emerge through an interplay between Hjert’s intentions and the material’s own will. In this way, the process becomes a metaphor for the unexpected and uncontrollable – a reflection of life itself.
