Vase Dagg
A small, round glass vase designed for sprouting acorns in the autumn, or for delicate flowers in spring. The Acorn Vase was designed by Estrid Ericson, the founder of Svenskt Tenn, in the 1930s and remains one of our most iconic vases today.
In her summer house Tolvekarna (The Twelve Oaks) on Tyresö outside Stockholm, Estrid Ericson found her creativity and inspiration. It was here, in the 1930s, that she came up with the idea to let acorns she found under the oaks sprout in small glass vases.
Pick your acorns in the autumn, preferably in October when they are abundant and fresh. Place them in a bowl of water without covering them completely.
Just like other classic vases in Svenskt Tenn's range, the Acorn vase is manufactured at Skrufs Glassworks in Småland, Sweden.
Entrepreneur, visionary, artist, designer, producer, scenographer, and art teacher. Many titles could be attributed to Estrid Ericson, for she was an exceptional woman ahead of her time.
