When the holiday season arrives at Svenskt Tenn, Josef Frank’s Poisons pattern makes a grand entrance. With its bold colour palette and playfully festive tone, the pattern – designed by Frank between 1943 and 1945 – creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Every corner of the living room, the gathering place for the season’s festivities, invites togetherness, presence and beauty. The glow of candlelight is reflected in the gleaming brass surfaces, textiles add warmth, and colours meet in festive harmony.

Hand-painted original, Poisons, 1943–1945.

The Knot of Friendship is dressed for the festive season with delicate, drop-shaped ornaments of glass and brass.

Candle Holder The Knot of Friendship

In the living room, candlelight creates a warm glow that brings stillness and atmosphere to the darkness. Josef Frank’s classic Knot of Friendship, designed in 1938, is both a symbol and a candlestick – an object that unites people, forms and traditions. As relevant today as it was then, it serves as a reminder of the importance of connecting and cherishing togetherness, even in uncertain times. With the Plym candle collar, it takes on a new expression, ready to be adorned with different ornaments and varied from one Christmas celebration to the next.

Timeless holiday elegance at Svenskt Tenn

The Dagg vase in black offers a striking frame for festive flowers.

Vase Dagg

Carina Seth Andersson’s modern classic – the hand-blown Dagg vase – becomes the living room’s most expressive centrepiece during the festive season, now reissued for the first time since 2017. Its characteristic shape, combined with the deep black hue, creates a dramatic contrast to winter flowers and green branches. In the vase’s dark sheen, the colours of the flowers appear with heightened intensity.

The decoration recreated for Christmas 2025

Estrid Ericson in her studio, 1964

For the holidays, Svenskt Tenn presents a number of pieces inspired by the company’s historical archives. Among them is The Christmas Tree – an extraordinary decoration recreated from an original idea by Svenskt Tenn’s founder, Estrid Ericson.

The photograph of Estrid Ericson in her studio was taken in 1964 by world-renowned photographer Lennart Nilsson. The arrangement she created from silver- and gold-foiled branches shares the same form and unique character as the tree now being reintroduced.

In this year’s living room, The Christmas Tree becomes a poetic focal point: its tiny beads catch the light and create a frosty, shimmering effect that reflects Estrid Ericson’s creative spirit and eye for detail.

Pewter pieces for the festive season

Cherub Candlestick, designed by Nils Fougstedt

From Svenskt Tenn’s historical archives, a curated selection of pewter objects have once again been brought to life for this year’s Christmas. Among them is the Cherub Candlestick, designed by Nils Fougstedt in the mid-1920s.

The candlestick depicts a standing cherub holding a candleholder and is beautiful when placed in the living room – either on its own on a side table, or grouped together with several others.
