Harmonised Colours In The Living room

Create a matching colour palette by picking out accent colours from a wallpaper, painting or rug in the interior. In Svenskt Tenn's summery living room, pink, green and yellow tones are present in the Aurora wallpaper as well as on cushions and textiles.

Josef Frank designed the Aurora wallpaper in 1947. Now, it has been brought back to the range, after last being in production in the 1960s. Aurora is the Latin word for dawn and according to Roman mythology, Aurora is the goddess of dawn, sister of the sun god Sol and the moon goddess Luna. According to legend it was Aurora who opened the eastern gates every morning with her rosy fingers to let the sun’s chariot come forth for the day.

Distinctive furniture can also add colour to the interior. Josef Frank designed the bentwood P4 chair in the late 1920s, but it was first launched for the spring of 2021.

The chair’s lattice back and turned spindles give it a light and airy look. It is manufactured at Gemla, Sweden’s oldest furniture factory. There are 8-10 people involved in the advanced process of making a chair. It undergoes everything from material development, turning, bending and milling to polishing, assembly and surface treatment.
