In this year’s Easter decorations at Svenskt Tenn, the presence of history and the human hand is unmistakable. In each piece, tradition and craftsmanship meet a contemporary expression. Handcrafted objects in glass, brass and beads invite you to adorn your home for Easter – and to welcome the spring and the returning light. Josef Frank’s classic pattern Tulpaner has inspired several of the pieces, including designer Marika Vaccino Andersson’s hand-painted glass eggs and Danish artist Katrine Roug’s beaded flowers. This Easter also marks the return of silversmith and artist Karin Ferner, with handcrafted brass objects in which traditional Easter symbols such as cockerels, hens and hares are given new life.

Karin Ferner is well known for her way of combining tradition and innovation. Her inspiration comes from folk art and her home in Dalarna, Sweden, where the cultural heritage has a strong presence in both everyday life as well as in her work and art.
