Eva Schildt

The work of designer Eva Schildt spans from furniture and textiles to packaging and interiors — often drawing inspiration from nature, incorporating elements of humor and multifunctionality.

Eva Schildt was raised on an island in the Stockholm archipelago. She studied furniture and product design at Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm, graduating in 2001. While studying, she worked in the textile department of Svenskt Tenn's store on Strandvägen 5 in Stockholm. The same year she graduated, she began working as a designer on her own.

With great respect for design traditions, Eva Schildt continuously explores new paths and creates work that expresses both functionality and poetic beauty. Nature and the organic elements are central themes in her work, reflected in her sculptural designs and multifunctional approaches.

Eva Schildt’s work is represented at the National Museum in Stockholm and the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, among others. For Svenskt Tenn, she has designed the now-classic Oolong table, the Vienna Rug and the Kvintett (Quintett) Cabinet.

Kvintett (Quintett) – a glass cabinet in a modern style, inspired by old glass verandas.

The Vienna rug was influenced by Josef Frank’s home town and the city’s blossoming cultural life around the turn of the last century.
