Beckmans scholar 2025

EXHIBITED AT STRANDVÄGEN 5
2025.10.03 – 2025.10.12

Svenskt Tenn’s Design Award is awarded annually to one of the graduating students from Beckmans College of Design’s Product Design Program, whose work fulfills the criteria of sustainability, quality and good design.

This year’s scholar, Love Persson, explores opposites as a design principle in the degree project “Heaven and Earth”. Tables with stones placed on top convey a sense of imbalance, while chairs of identical form but in different materials examine how material choice influences an object’s expression and perception. Inspired by the passing of Persson’s mother, the work tells a story of heritage, identity and creation, weaving together opposites such as stability and unrest, softness and hardness.

Exploring the significance of material choice.

Hard meets soft in a composition of imbalance.
