The crayfish festivities have been celebrated in Sweden since the first decades of the 20th century, but the concept itself was established in the 1930s. For many years, Svenskt Tenn has traditionally set the table for a fest during the month of August. The picture was taken between 1940 and 1950, when the company's founder Estrid Ericson had adorned the table in her characteristically refined yet festive way. The pewter schnapps fish has been part of the range since the 1920s, while the green, oval plate and the Chinese bowl were added during the 1940s. As did Josef Frank's Italian Dinner textile, with colourful vegetable plants, leaves, fruits and seafood from Italy. With these items from Svenskt Tenn you can create your own beautiful table setting in the spirit of Estrid Ericson.
